SB 63 (2017)

Summary:

Requires the state to keep child abuse and neglect reports 4 years if the report is screened out, 10 years if the report is unfounded, and indefinitely if the report is founded or unfounded but with reasonable concern. Right now the state keeps reports 1 year, 3 years, and 7 years. The Senate amended the bill to also establish a pilot program to assess statewide electronic storage of child abuse and neglect reports. The House then amended the bill to add two full-time and four part-time child protection-related positions in the Department of Health and Human Services.
