On Wednesday, June 1 the New Hampshire House and Senate passed HB 1227, a bill that allows alcohol sales at college stadiums.  The bill now heads to Gov. Maggie Hassan for her signature or veto.

Bill supporters argue that alcohol sales can provide much-needed revenue for the University of New Hampshire.

Other supporters argue that regulating alcohol sales in college stadiums may decrease binge drinking at nearby tailgate parties.

Opponents argue that colleges should not promote drinking in an environment that includes underage students and families.

Selling alcohol also requires additional security, which can cut into already limited profits
