Should more money be invested in NH's battle against the drug epidemic?

Earlier in November, a summit was held in NH for medical providers that focused on the drug crisis and what is being done to stem it. According to the state's Medical Examiner, 302 drug overdoses have been recorded so far in 2016.

Those who advocate for more resources argue that 98 cases are still pending, which skews the current data. Others express concern that the state's substance abuse treatment force needs to be more financially competitive or risk losing workers to other states and/or fields.

On the other hand, others contend that $30 million has already been spent on treatment and prevention. They also argue that this year's total is far lower - regardless of pending cases - than the projected total of 488 confirmed drug overdoses.
