According to a recent New Hampshire poll, 49% think Granite State businesses will enjoy good times financially over the next year.

The latest Business and Industry Association (BIA) Report on Consumer Confidence also found that 23% think New Hampshire businesses will see hard times.  28% of poll respondents expect mixed conditions.

On Thursday, May 18 the New Hampshire Senate passed HB 316, a bill that lets towns give new businesses a break on local property taxes. The bill now heads to Gov. Sununu for his signature.

On Wednesday Gov. Chris Sununu quipped, “DRED is dead.”

He was referring to the Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED). This year’s budget bill divided DRED into two departments: the Department of Business and Economic Affairs and the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
