On Monday, October 19 - five years after first proposing the project - Eversource filed an application for the Northern Pass with the New Hampshire Site Evaluation Committee (SEC).

The SEC approval process will involve several public hearings and is expected to last over a year.

On Thursday, August 10 the U.S. Department of Energy issued its Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the proposed Northern Pass transmission line.  The FEIS recommends the federal government grant a permit for the project.
